Day 4 and Day 5.

Hey guys,

So I wish I could say that something dramatic happened to me so I’d have more of a story to share with you all, but alas I’ve none to share. The past two days have just been super busy and I haven’t had the chance to blog or post anything on Instagram. There just aren’t enough hours in the day.

I did get to keep up with my routine, like every work day I cycle 20-25 minutes to work and back home again. On day 4 I did 30 minutes yoga and I did some stretches and cardio exercises as promised. I’m no expert when it come to fitness or exercise in anyway so I turned to my reliable friend YouTube to show me the ways to master ‘beginners’ yoga. It’s a lot more difficult that it seems but I did notice a difference in my posture just after one session and my mental health felt amazing. I would serious recommend. That was followed by stretching my legs, arms, core and back. Am I the only one who needs to crack nearly every bone in their body when they are stretching?

My cardio workout for the week consists of 60 reps of high knees, followed by a minute of butt kicks, 30 reps if sumo squats, 25 leg lifts, 25 tricep dips, 30 side shuffles (15 on each side) and 30 reps of bike abs. Take a minute break and repeat.

Day 5 I was tight from my previous workout so I decided to do some core workouts. This consisted of 1min planking, 30 reps of sit ups, 20 bike abs, 10 leg lifts and then I finished the workout by completing 30 clams using resistance bands.

If anyone is following me along on this journey or if you are starting your own and are overwhelmed, let me know and I’ll be your workout buddy.

Until next time, stay happy.

Day 3 – Sunday is funday

Hey guys welcome back to the blog. So today was a rest day for me spent it travelling once again which meant the daylight hours were gone. I did manage to fit in a 2km walk so it wasn’t a total waste.

Sometimes your body just needs a break and that was what today was for. Tomorrow is going to be a big exercise day, going to focus on core and cardio with a bit of yoga. I’ll keep you all informed on my exercise routine tomorrow.

Until then enjoy your evening!

Day 2

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. Today is day two of my journey and I’m posting a little later than usual. Today’s exercise comprised of a walk in a forest. I wanted a little leisurely walk as this weekend is all about relaxing and unwinding.

We all have a busy schedule during the week, and sometimes even more over the weekend as we try to fit in as much as we can into the few hours we have free. But it’s so important that you take time to rest yourself and let your mind reset. It can be hard to find an activity or area which allows you to do so, but I find going for a walk in the forest to be my way to escape reality. I focus on the birds singing or the animals going about their day paying more slight bit of attention to me or even just listening to the silence.

It can be a great way to help clear your mind and sort through your thoughts and figure out what you must do in order to stop worrying over them. It give me perspective and a goal to accomplish. We all fell much better once we have accomplished a target we set ourselves no matter the time frame.

So today’s important message is to take time for yourself and let yourself relax and unwind. Destress. Reset your mind and you’ll start to think clearly.

Day 1

Hey guys! Welcome back so day one of this journey back to myself And I am off to a good start. Hopefully it will stay like this. Got up at 6 this morning to go for a morning run before work. I was wrecked and not being as fit as I once was I struggled. This struggle reminds me though that when I achieve my goal and I reflect on my journey, it will show just how much I’ve actually achieved and how proud I can be of myself with what I will achieve this year.

As I write this while I travel home to see my family, I’m reminded of why I’m doing this challenge. I didn’t want to be this person how would lose the close connections I have with the people I love, all because I was making it difficult for them to be around me. (Or so that I thought) I was and am afraid that If I didn’t make these changes I’d lose those who I need the most. But I’m proud and didn’t tell any of them really what I was going through internally. The struggles I faced constantly of bettering myself esteem, of constantly feeling like I wasn’t good enough for any of them and worst of all feeling like they would be better off without me. I was stupid and ignorant of what I was doing to myself. I should have told them, should have told someone, got some help. It’s ok to be vulnerable and admit when you need help. I know that now and to me it’s the first step for me to know that I can do this because I am not alone and you aren’t either! We are all stronger than we know!!

For me this journey isn’t just for me it’s for the people I love too. They can be around a happy and confident person, who views the world as a half full kind of place and for all the bad in the world sees the good that makes it such a beautiful place to live in. When I see a stranger smile now it makes me smile to know that there is joy in the world and I hope that if by me making these changes that I’ll start to smile like those people, and who knows I could even make a stranger smile. Happiness is infectious don’t forget that. So if you are feeling down today just do something to make someone smile. Doesn’t matter who it is! But just see how you can make their day instantly better.

Thanks for reading guys and I’ll be back again tomorrow with day 2 of this journey.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
